This method uses autologous (patient-specific) fibroblast cells derived from a skin biopsy taken from behind the ear. A small punch biopsy is performed in a clinical setting, and the extracted tissue is sent to the authorized human tissue and cell manufacturing GMP center for processing and cell expansion. The cell suspension is prepared in sterile syringes and sent back to the clinic for re-injection into the patient.
